What Are Q&A Pairs?
Q&A pairs are structured knowledge entries with:
- A question (what users might ask)
- An answer (the response your chatbot should give)
They're useful for:
- Common questions with specific answers
- Correcting chatbot responses
- Adding information not in your documents
- Ensuring consistent answers to key questions
Adding Q&A Pairs
- Go to your chatbot's Sources page
- Click Add Source
- Select Q&A
- Enter the question
- Enter the answer
- Click Save
Writing Effective Q&A Pairs
Questions
Write questions the way your users would ask them:
Good examples:
- "What are your business hours?"
- "How do I reset my password?"
- "Do you offer refunds?"
Variations help: Add multiple Q&A pairs for the same topic with different phrasings:
- "What are your hours?"
- "When are you open?"
- "What time do you close?"
Answers
Keep answers clear and helpful:
Good answer:
Our business hours are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM EST.
We're closed on weekends and major holidays.
Include actions when relevant:
To reset your password:

Managing Q&A Pairs
Edit a Q&A Pair
- Find the Q&A pair in your Sources list
- Click Edit
- Update the question or answer
- Click Save
Delete a Q&A Pair
- Select the Q&A pair
- Click Delete
- Confirm deletion
Q&A Priority
When your chatbot finds a Q&A pair that matches a user's question closely, it prioritizes that answer over document content. This makes Q&A pairs powerful for:
- Ensuring accurate answers to critical questions
- Overriding outdated document information
- Providing concise responses instead of long excerpts

Question: "What is your refund policy?"
Answer: "We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all plans. To request a refund, contact support@example.com with your account email."
Technical Support
Question: "How do I export my data?"
Answer: "To export your data:
