Chatbot Not Responding

Symptoms

  • Widget appears but chatbot doesn't reply
  • Messages show "sending" but never complete
  • Error message in chat

Solutions

  1. Check chatbot status

    • Go to Settings > General
    • Ensure the chatbot is set to Active
  2. Verify quota

    • Check your message quota in Settings > Billing
    • Upgrade if you've reached your limit
  3. Check training data

    • Ensure you have at least one source added
    • Verify sources show "Ready" status
  4. Test in playground

    • Use the Playground to test
    • This helps isolate widget vs. chatbot issues

Widget Not Appearing

Symptoms

  • Chat button doesn't show on website
  • No errors in browser console
  • Script tag is present

Solutions

  1. Verify script placement

    • Script should be before </body>
    • Check for typos in the script URL
    • Ensure chatbot ID is correct
  2. Check browser console

    • Open Developer Tools (F12)
    • Look for JavaScript errors
    • Look for blocked scripts
  3. Check for conflicts

    • Try disabling other scripts temporarily
    • Check if ad blockers are interfering
  4. Clear cache

    • Hard refresh the page (Ctrl+Shift+R)
    • Try incognito/private browsing

Poor Response Quality

Symptoms

  • Chatbot gives incorrect answers
  • Responses don't match training content
  • "I don't know" responses when it should know

Solutions

  1. Improve training data

    • Add more relevant documents
    • Create Q&A pairs for specific questions
    • Remove outdated or conflicting content
  2. Adjust AI settings

    • Lower temperature for more focused answers
    • Update the system prompt with clearer instructions
  3. Test systematically

    • Use the Playground to test specific questions
    • Compare responses with training content
    • Identify gaps in knowledge

Document Processing Failed

Symptoms

  • Document stuck on "Processing"
  • Error message after upload
  • Document shows "Failed" status

Solutions

  1. Check file format

    • Only PDF and TXT files are supported
    • Ensure file isn't corrupted
  2. Check file size

    • Maximum 10 MB for PDFs
    • Maximum 5 MB for text files
  3. PDF issues

    • Remove password protection
    • Ensure PDF contains text (not just images)
    • Try re-exporting the PDF
  4. Try again

    • Delete the failed document
    • Re-upload after a few minutes

Website Crawl Failed

Symptoms

  • URL shows "Failed" after adding
  • No content extracted from page
  • Partial content only

Solutions

  1. Verify URL

    • Check the URL works in your browser
    • Include full URL with https://
  2. Check page accessibility

    • Page must be publicly accessible
    • No login required
    • Not blocked by robots.txt
  3. Content issues

    • Page may use JavaScript rendering
    • Try a different page from the site
    • Consider uploading content as document instead

Payment Issues

  1. Update payment method
